Joint Pain
Many American’s are plagued by joint pain. A very
bothersome problem, joint pain can be caused by various types
of injuries or physical conditions.
Some of these conditions include rheumatoid arthritis and
osteoarthritis. Another common cause of joint pain is
bursitis.
This occurs when the bursae (sacs that pad your bones
allowing your muscles and tendons to move freely around the
bone) become inflamed.
If you are having joint pain that is not related to the
above illnesses,
it may be due to several
other factors. First, ask yourself if you have been
exerting yourself more than normal or if you could have
possibly sustained some type of injury like a sprain. If
not, you may have some type of virus or infectious disease.
Joint pain frequently accompanies viruses and diseases such
as the common flu, chicken pox, and measles. More serious
conditions such as Hepatitis can also come with chronic joint
pain. Since the possibilities are many, it is best to
contact your doctor so that he can properly diagnose your joint
pain. It’s important to remember that joint pain is often
the symptom of a larger problem.
Joint pain is treated in many different ways since doctors
need to treat the underlying cause of the pain. If your
pain is not related to arthritis, it is important to
incorporate a mixture of rest and exercise. Your
physician will probably stress the importance of stretching
your muscles and joints as frequently as possible and taking
warm baths. Massage is often an effective way of treating
joint pain.
If you experience joint pain, also know that you don’t have
to necessarily turn to prescription medication. Today,

effects. Ask your doctor for more information about
